Canadian Thanksgiving is in October rather than November because we are further north.

Canadian Thanksgiving.
By: Allemande

Canadians were glad that there harvest went well. The Americans remember the Pilgrims and the New World instead. American’s bring in there crops later than Canadians.’ Martin Frobisher was the beginning of thanksgiving in Canada; he was looking for the North West passage. It didn’t work, but he built a fort in North America. Americans who were loyal to England in the Revolution moved to Canada and brought their customs. There are things the same in the two Thanksgivings, like the pumpkin pie. Parliament decided in 1879 that November 6th would be thanksgiving but the people decided that thanksgiving should be on the 3rd Monday in October instead.
