What a great day at Science World!
It was great to see so many students and parents. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Sampling a Purdy's chocolate while learning about cocoa and the manufacturing of chocolate, to testing my ability to relax and move a ball through 'Mind Power' ,to going to the Omnimax and seeing the force of nature, to examining live insects at the Eureka Lab...I had a fabulous time.
Those of you who were able to join us, I'm sure you had an enjoyable experience also. I'd like you to share one thing that impressed you on the field trip. It may be one fact that you remember from watching the Omnimax film, or it could be something you learned at the insect or chemistry workshop, or it could be something you discovered at one of the galleries.
Those of you who were unable to join us, I'd like you to share an interesting fact or observation about a special place of interest that you may have visited recently. You may be overseas and visited a tourist attraction or you may tell us about something interesting in your neighborhood, perhaps a statue in a local park.

I'm really disappointed to have missed the Science World field trip. At the time, I was performing my concert group in the North Shore Music Festival. I am also quite envious that you got to examine live insects, but that reminded me of my visit to the Victoria Bug Zoo last year. The guide gave us a tour of their many insects, all housed in glass tanks. I saw live giant walkingsticks, alien-eyed praying mantids, great big hairy tarantulas, and venomous scorpions. However, the most exciting event was when the guide gave me a "millipede moustache" by placing a long, plump, wiggly, 8-inch Brazilian millipede on my upper-lip. He also gave me the "unibrow" treatment by putting it on my forehead. That was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

I had lots of fun at Science World last Tuesday! There was so much to see and do. It was my first time at the IMAX theatre and it was like really being in the Bayou! It was a little bit scary when they showed the hurricane but now I know better what it must have been like there when it happened. It was the first time I've ever been to science world, so I was glad to be able to go.

I liked this field trip very much. I liked the IMAX theatre movie on hurricane Katrina. My grandpa lived there when he was little so the news about the hurricane was really hard for him. He fished in the wetlands before it was all muddy and gross it was really pretty back then. I cried when it showed the city and people’s homes after the hurricane struck. My Aunt Coral went down to help re-build the houses and buildings when it happened.
